Course Overview
This course uses a step-by-step approach, combining in-depth explanations with high-quality video demonstrations. Every module is crafted to ensure you not only understand the concepts but can also confidently apply them to build a standout portfolio.
We begin with foundational topics like creating a Brand Profile Page, which defines your aesthetic and identity as a designer. From there, you'll learn to craft a Customer Profile Page that aligns your designs with target market needs. Next, we’ll dive into the Mood and Color Page, teaching you to visually articulate your design inspiration and set the tone for your collection.
As you progress, you'll tackle the technical aspects of portfolio creation. Develop a Line Plan Development Page to map out cohesive collections, and build skills in Sketching Flats and Illustrations, ensuring your designs are clearly and professionally represented. We’ll also explore elements like Tech Packs to communicate technical specifications, and provide guidance on fabric selection, line balance, and construction details.
But this course isn’t just about the technical; it’s about presenting yourself as a well-rounded designer.

NINO VIA: A graduate of FIT/Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City, with experiences at major fashion houses, most notably Ralph Lauren. My repertoire includes: fashion design, clothing production, and the nuanced artistry of fashion branding and marketing, forming a solid foundation from which I impart wisdom to the burgeoning talents of the industry.
Years spent as an Instructor and Curriculum Development at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, were not merely professional tenure but a quest to ignite the creative fervor within my students.
SOFIA ELIN BERNARDEZ: Hi! I’m Sofia, a fashion designer with over 10 years of industry experience, creating #1 bestselling designs for top global brands. My work spans activewear and ready-to-wear styles that have topped sales charts and won customers worldwide.
I began my design journey at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Barcelona before earning my Fashion Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), giving me a diverse and global foundation in design principles and industry techniques.
Beyond designing, I’ve spent the past few years mentoring aspiring designers through 1:1 portfolio creation lessons, helping students transform their creativity into professional, industry- or school-ready portfolios that truly stand out.
